A compact fluorescent lamp (CFL), also known as a compact fluorescent light bulb or an energy saving lightbulb, is a type of lamp (light bulb) designed to fit into roughly the same space as an incandescent lamp, but with the advantages of a fluorescent lamp. Many CFLs can directly replace an existing incandescent lamp. (more info – wikipedia)
Now, I am by far NOT very energy savings “hip”. But, changing out incandescent bulbs for CFLs is a good choice. Less energy and they don’t burn out all the time.
So, today, we changed out 64 bulbs today. If you figure $35.74 per bulb (over the life of the bulb) that is a savings of $2,287.36. Not a bad deal at all.
