So things like MP3, WMV codecs and DVD playback functions are not really free. Sure, you can turn on the “restricted” repositories and download them in your Ubuntu box, but their license is not a free license.

So, to all you “law breakers” out there. 🙂 Canonical is now offering up for sale DVD playback software and a codec pack.

Together, they are about $90 bucks. Cheaper than a copy of Windows Vista and Microsoft Office still.
