Security and Technology Ramblings…

It may be that I am the first person on earth to compare Windows Vista to Windows ME (Millennium Edition). Note: I am sure I’m not, but I sure like saying it. 🙂

How you say? Well, as I am sure you know, Windows ME is the version of Windows that most everyone skipped. They kept using Windows 95 until Windows 98 was released.

It seems at least a few major companies have publicly stated that they are holding off on using Vista and keeping with the tried and true XP. Check out some big name companies doing just that…

Intel chooses not to upgrade it’s 80,000 employees to Vista

GM chooses not to upgrade it’s employees either

Other companies of note that have stated they plan to skip Vista.

1. Alaska Airlines
2. Transco Railway Products

One Response to Windows Vista – The next Windows ME?

  • We’re skipping Vista, too. We don’t exactly have 80,000 employees, but we’re not buying anything with Vista on it. I’ve got 1 Vista box in the office used for regular work, and the only other Vista licenses we have are used for product testing and support.
